Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 29, 2026

1. About this policy

Evren Valuations Inc. (“Evren”, “we” or “us”) is a business valuation and litigation support firm with offices in Vancouver, BC and Oakville, ON. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information through our website, evrenvaluations.com, and in our professional engagements. We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, in British Columbia, the Personal Information Protection Act (BC PIPA).

2. Information we collect

Website use: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and similar technical information.

Enquiries: your name, email address, telephone number, organization and message when you contact us.

Payments: limited transaction details (name, email, amount, last four card digits). Card numbers are collected and processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store them.

Engagements: financial, income, employment, tax and business records needed for our work. In litigation matters, this may include information about individuals other than our client, such as opposing parties or children whose support is at issue.

3. How we use and disclose it

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, check for conflicts of interest, provide our services, invoice and collect payment, operate and improve the website, and meet our legal and professional obligations.

We disclose personal information only:

  • to service providers who help us operate (such as email, payment processing and website analytics), who must protect it and use it only for the services they provide to us;
  • to counsel, courts, tribunals, opposing parties and their experts, as required by rules of court, court orders or our retainer;
  • to our professional advisers and insurers; and
  • where otherwise required or permitted by law, including in connection with actual or prospective legal proceedings.

We do not sell personal information.

4. Consent

We collect, use and disclose personal information with your consent, which may be express (for example, through an engagement letter) or implied (for example, when you send us an enquiry), except where the law permits otherwise, such as for legal proceedings. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, subject to legal or contractual restrictions; we will explain any effect on our ability to serve you.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our website uses essential cookies to function securely and analytics cookies from Google Analytics and advertising cookies from Google Ads to understand how visitors use the site and whether our advertising is effective. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or your browser settings.

6. Storage, transfers and retention

Some of our service providers, including our payment processor (Stripe) and website analytics and advertising provider (Google), store or process information outside Canada, primarily in the United States. While there, it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessed by its courts and authorities. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law, professional standards or our insurers. Engagement files, including working papers, are generally retained for 7 years after the matter concludes. We then securely destroy or anonymize the information.

7. Security

We protect personal information with technical, physical and organizational safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption, access controls and professional confidentiality obligations. Please do not send sensitive documents through our contact form; we will provide a secure transfer method once engaged. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate privacy commissioner as required by law.

8. Your rights

You may ask, in writing, to access the personal information we hold about you or to correct it if it is inaccurate. We will respond within the time required by law (generally 30 days). We may decline access where the law permits, for example where information is privileged or would reveal personal information about someone else, and we will explain why.

If you have a concern, please contact our Privacy Officer first. If we cannot resolve it, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, for matters in British Columbia, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy by posting a new version with a new effective date. Our website links to other sites, such as LinkedIn, whose privacy practices we do not control.
